GRAINS D'ESPOIR COFFEE

Jean-Claude Télémaque, Maripier Morin & Angelo Rubino
‘Grains d’espoir’ is a project whose mission is to raise funds to fight addiction. Whether it's alcohol, gambling, drugs, sex, food or something else, addiction is a taboo subject which we hear little about. The pandemic has certainly exacerbated the issues related to these addictions and it seemed more important than ever to try to make a difference and open the conversation on the subject.
Whether it's a friend or a family member, we all know someone who suffers from addiction. This small gesture can make a real difference in the life of someone and their loved ones.
100% of the profits will be donated to 3 direct aid organizations each year. The organizations chosen are listed at the bottom of the page.
More specifically, an amount of $15.25 per bag will be given to the organizations that have been chosen. All funds raised will be used to help people who cannot afford the services offered by these centers. In addition, all administrative, handling, marketing charges, etc. related to the project are assumed by Rubino and are not deducted from sales income. Finally, Café Brossard generously provides the bags of coffee at cost price.
Maripier Morin has been sober for almost 18 months now. During an anonymous meeting, she met Angelo Rubino and after a long discussion where they shared their experiences in relation to addiction and recovery, they had the idea of uniting their strengths. Their objective is to destigmatize addiction in Quebec and to raise funds for organizations that help people who suffer from it.
For Maripier, the ‘Grains d’espoir’ project is a ray of light. She wants to open the discussion and create a ripple effect that could motivate many people to take charge of their addiction problem. Her goal is not to demonize consumption, but rather to send the message that the problem is pervasive and that there are solutions.
She also wants to share her experience to show that her problem is not unique and that it is okay to ask for help. A person who is in pain often finds themselves isolated and this only makes it worse for them.
With the ‘Grains d’espoir’ project, Maripier wants to make a real difference for people who are suffering.

Angelo Rubino has now been sober for three and a half years. After meeting Maripier in an anonymous meeting, they decided to work together for the good cause of addiction. The idea for the coffee project came about by chance while recording Angelo's podcast with Anne-Sophie Brossard, from Café Brossard. Anne-Sophie is a friend from Angelo's high school, so the pairing seemed ideal. This is where the idea moved further and the collaboration between Maripier and Angelo was taken to another stage.
For Angelo, recovery is an important part of his life that allowed him to reconnect with values that were important to him. He now enjoys getting involved with others to assist them in their own recovery process. Helping others is an integral part of his personal recovery process.
The ‘Grains d’espoir’ project is a natural continuation of his recovery process and he is very proud to have the opportunity to help more people through this project.

The Maisons Péladeau's social mission is to help men and women who are struggling with alcohol, drug or medication problems, to become sober, to regain meaning in their life, to promote their autonomy and their self-esteem and, consequently, to develop a quality of life necessary to maintain this sobriety.
Pavillon nouveau point de vue - SOUTH SHORE
Pavillon nouveau point de vue is a non-profit organization founded in 1978. The establishment's mission is to help alcoholics and / or drug addicts to recover, to live without addiction to psychotropic drugs and to undertake reintegration into their family and social environment, while respecting their dignity. The Pavillons du nouveau point de vue also offer a support service to families and employers.
LE RUCHER - QUEBEC
Since it was founded in 1990, the Centre Le Rucher, recognized as a community organization, has welcomed more than five thousand people with a problem of illicit substance, alcohol and drug addiction, who may present a concomitant drug addiction and mental health.
